The 113th National Day Celebration: The Military and Civilians Congratulate the Republic of China on Its Happy Birthday

The Army Academy Drum Corps participated in this year's 113th National Day celebrations, joining the nation in wishing the Republic of China a happy birthday! The Warriors Drum Corps from the Army Academy stated that this year’s performance for the National Day event differed from the stationary displays of previous years. It incorporated diverse and dynamic drum-playing techniques, quick rhythmic transitions, multi-layered formation changes, and flowing battle flags. This presentation perfectly showcased the indomitable fighting spirit of the armed forces to the people of Taiwan.

The Army Academy Drum Corps was established in 2008, featuring horizontal and vertical drums. Through its majestic rhythms, the team embodies the bravery and vigor of military personnel. The corps has represented the academy in numerous significant events, such as the 70th Anniversary of Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan in 2015, the Ministry of National Defense’s Military-Civilian Gala for Armed Forces Day in 2017, the National High School Drill Team Competition, and the National Defense Education Tour’s base opening performances. This year marks the team’s fourth participation in the National Day celebrations. They will collaborate with the Army’s 333rd Mechanized Infantry Brigade Puguang Dragon Team and Taiwan’s Lee Tanghua Acrobatic Troupe to seamlessly merge war drums, dragon dances, and acrobatic arts, collectively presenting the grandeur and artistic beauty of Chinese culture.

For their musical performance, the drum corps will perform "Thunderous Momentum," composed by their instructor Lin Yulong. Lin explained that the piece draws inspiration from "Jingzhe," one of the traditional 24 solar terms, depicting the imagery of warming weather and the spring thunder awakening the earth. During the drumming performance, the drummers mimic spring shoots swaying in the wind, symbolizing the nation’s vitality and resilience. Together, they celebrate today’s beautiful Taiwan and look forward to an even brighter future for the nation.
