Department of Sport Sciences

History

The Department of Sport Sciences was founded in 2018. With important policies of the Ministry of National Defense and Command Headquarters to improve scientific combat training, the name of department was changed to the Department of Sports Science. The goal of the department is to fulfil two-year non-commissioned officers college policies and train professional talent in military combat techniques, incorporating army development features to the military education goals. The department also recruits general (vocational) high school students and non-commissioned officers returning to battalion education.

 Educational Goals

  1. Train non-commissioned officers with military qualities and national defense through sports. 
  2. Develop non-commissioned officers to obtain physical education certificates.
  3. Train students to apply their professional knowledge to practical military combat technique training.

Educational Concept

 The department is an education unit of basic non-commissioned officers responsible for the training of non-commissioned officers with national defense physical education. In addition to general physical education, the courses of this department also include general education and military education. General education is delivered by teachers of common subjects to form the martial virtue of soldiers, and develop leadership and the humanistic quality of students. Military subjects develop military skills and basic deportment of students. During the winter and summer school break, students undergo accept military skill subject training. Students are distributed based on their expertise upon graduation.

Features of Courses

The department lectures in four areas: sports leadership management, sports science, military physical education, and sports technology, focusing on the integration of theory and practices to allow students to apply their knowledge to sports technology, physical combat skills, and physical education administration works. The department trains graduates with national defense sports training and management abilities and instill the faith of "I am a non-commissioned officer, and no one can beat my expertise".
The department actively guides students to pass various skill tests (ball certificates, martial art certificates, swimming certificates, etc.), equipping them with skills and basic workplace competencies.
